Toys For Joy

This past weekend our team at West Coast GBC helped to safely hand out thousands of toys, groceries, and a good dose of much needed joy to over 900 families from throughout the county at the annual Toys for Joy event hosted this year at Mesa College.

Beth Piner first began volunteering for the event back in 2011. By 2014 both Beth and Parker were in leadership and primary logistics roles for Toys for Joy with much of the rest of the West Coast team and many subcontractors also participating in this annual event that has come to mean so much to all of us.

Serving our community, continuing to be connected and true to our roots is a fundamental part of our collective spirit. We have each faced adversity in our own lives and found our way in no small part due to the kindness and opportunity that others offered at times of need. Part of how we continue to show our gratitude for what we have is through our commitment to giving back.

As Beth says,

We have been blessed with the ability to serve, as we so easily could be a family in line rather than those helping to serve the families.

2020 has brought tremendous hardship to many and it gave our team no greater joy this holiday season than to serve the many families that have been most affected.

We would like to thank all of our team members, subcontractors, family and clients that joined us in volunteering. A big thank you to Mesa College and especially The Rock Church for their benevolent contributions to the community and incredible efforts to make this event possible.
